How Mexican Beer is Served in Lebanon: A Unique Lebanese Twist

Most people don’t realize that Mexican beer has its own special presentation in Lebanon. It’s not served the way you’ll see it in the United States or anywhere else—and that difference always surprises people.

When I moved to the U.S. 18 years ago, I ordered a Mexican beer at a pub and the server handed me a Corona with a lime wedge stuffed into the bottle. I stared at it confused. My husband laughed and said, “that’s how it’s done here.” It was one of my first real cultural shocks.

Since then, I’ve traveled to plenty of countries, and I still haven’t seen Mexican beer served the Lebanese way. I miss it. So when I host friends, I bring that tradition back because it’s simple, memorable, and it always sparks conversation.

If you want to serve Mexican beer the Lebanese way—and give your guests something they’ve probably never experienced—here’s how to do it.

Recipe:
  1. Start with a frozen cup.
  2. Dip it in lemon juice.
  3. Dip in kosher salt.
  4. Add 2 oz of lemon or lime juice.
  5. A bottle of Dos Equis Mexican beer.

So now that you know how we do it, try it and let me know what you think in the comments.

  1. I’m extremely inspired with your writing skills as well as with the
format for your weblog. Is this a paid subject
matter or did you customize it yourself? Either way stay up the excellent quality
writing, it’s rare to look a nice blog like this one these days.
