Did you know that we serve Mexican beer differently in Lebanon? The way we drink is unique, and here’s how we do it.
18 years ago, when I came to the United States and ventured to a pub. I asked for a Mexican beer. I was shocked when the server handed me a bottle of Corona beer with a lime wedge inserted at the tip. I looked at my friends, and they told me you ordered Mexican beer, and this is it.
That was my first cultural shock here in the United States. Over the years I’ve been to many countries and haven’t seen Mexican beer served Lebanese style. I miss it, and when I have friends over, I serve them because it is quite special.
It’s also easy and a conversation starter when you have guests and you want to make them feel special. Here’s how to make it.

Recipe:
- Start with a frozen cup.
- Dip it in lemon juice.
- Dip in kosher salt.
- Add 2 oz of lemon or lime juice.
- A bottle of Dos Equis Mexican beer.
So now that you know how we do it, try it and let me know what you think in the comments.
